Detmold (lxlm). The Varus Year of 2009 adds a new perspective to the Hermann monument. It is a cultural landmark which is known European-wide. It is a tourist attraction for sure and to those interested in culture as well as to the active tourists.

With the colourful illumination of the Hermann monument begins the international program "Hermann2009" with a series of top-class events, e.g. Herman van Veen's musical theater play. The illumination took place during New Year's Eve with spectacular drawings, patterns and templates by Martin light equipment.
